Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 June 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the StackPatrol website at stackpatrol.eu and all associated services (collectively, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

The Service is operated by Skaarberg Digital (trading as StackPatrol), org.nr. 937 621 035, Paul Holmsens vei 24, 1613 Fredrikstad, Norway ("we", "us", "our").

1. Description of the Service

StackPatrol is a technical scanning tool that visits URLs you submit using a headless browser, captures the third-party network requests made during page load, classifies the vendors involved by ownership region, and produces a report. The Service also provides a vendor directory and educational content.

The scan produces a technical report. It is not legal advice, a compliance certification, a GDPR audit, or a substitute for a qualified data protection officer or privacy lawyer. We expressly disclaim any liability for decisions made on the basis of scan results alone.

2. Eligibility and account registration

The free scan is available to anyone without an account. To use paid features (scan history, monitoring, PDF reports), you must create an account using a valid email address. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately at Andreas@stackpatrol.eu if you become aware of any unauthorised use.

3. Acceptable use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Submit URLs for which you do not have authority or legitimate interest to scan (for example, scanning a competitor at high frequency solely to strain their server).
  • Use the Service to circumvent, disable or interfere with security features of any website.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape or systematically extract data from the Service beyond normal use.
  • Use automated scripts or bots to submit scans at a rate that exceeds reasonable manual use, unless you have a written agreement with us.
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law, including data protection law.
  • Resell or redistribute scan results or API access without our written consent.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we believe are being used in violation of these rules, without prior notice.

4. Subscription plans and payment

Free scanning is unlimited and requires no account. Paid plans (Pro, Agency Starter, Agency, Agency Pro) are billed in euros via Stripe and can be paid either monthly or yearly. Yearly billing is offered at a discount (the equivalent of two months free). Prices are displayed on the pricing page and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly, depending on the plan you chose). You can cancel or change your plan at any time through the Stripe customer portal, accessible from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access to paid features until that date.

PDF audit reports are a one-time purchase and are non-refundable once the report has been generated and delivered.

5. Refund policy

We offer a full refund within 7 days of a new subscription payment if you are not satisfied, provided you have not made more than 10 scans in that period. To request a refund, email Andreas@stackpatrol.eu with "Refund request" in the subject line within 7 days of the charge.

Renewal charges are not refundable. If you do not want to be charged for the next period, cancel before the renewal date.

Nothing in this refund policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable EU law, including the right of withdrawal for distance contracts where applicable.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including the software, design, brand, vendor database, and all content we have created, is owned by StackPatrol and protected by copyright and other intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce or redistribute it without our express written permission.

You retain ownership of any URLs or data you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process it for the purpose of delivering the scan result to you.

Scan reports generated for your account are yours to use for any lawful purpose. You may share the shareable report link freely.

7. Scanning third-party websites

When you submit a URL for scanning, our scanner visits that URL as a standard web client. The scan is equivalent to a single page view from a user's browser. We make no representations about whether scanning a particular URL is permitted under that site's terms of service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have a legitimate basis for requesting a scan of any URL you submit. We will not be liable for any claims brought by the owner of a scanned website.

8. Availability and modifications

We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend the Service temporarily for maintenance, updates or circumstances beyond our control.

We reserve the right to modify, discontinue or limit features of the Service at any time. Where we make changes that materially reduce the service you have paid for, we will notify you by email and offer a prorated refund for the affected period if you wish to cancel.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or completeness of scan results.

Scan results reflect the state of a website at the moment of scanning. Websites change. A clean scan result today does not mean the site will remain clean tomorrow. We do not warrant that our vendor database is complete or that all third-party services will be detected.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StackPatrol shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or EUR 100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and the EEA member state in which the Service is principally operated, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you also benefit from any mandatory protections afforded by the law of your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms removes those rights.

We encourage you to contact us first at Andreas@stackpatrol.eu if you have a dispute. You also have the option of using the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version.

Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and may cancel your subscription.
